Well...this morning at 1:13 am CST, my daughter Johnna was born. My third and last. Mom and baby are doing great. Sure it means another college education and wedding to pay for, but it also means another Alembic to join the ranks!

Congratulations!! Glad to hear Mom and baby are happy and healthy.

Any ideas on the Alembic-to-be?

Jonathan:

Big CONGRATS to you, senior management (whom, I presume, did most of the work) and the whole clan. Maybe a family band is in order?

By the way thanks for the suggestions. Kamehachi Old Town was wonderful, as was Buddy Guy's Legends. I never made it to Chicago Music Exchange, but I did get to Makenmusic. Nice selection, VERY nice people - I said you sent me and the guy immediately told me about your affinity for B.C. Riches. I fell in love with a Veillette Gryphon acoustic/electric tenor 12 string. It's about $3,500, but I'm trying to talk myself into picking one up. Check it out next time you're in there. An amazing instrument, sort of a cross between a 12 string guitar and a mandolin.

Anyway, enjoy the diapers and try to get some sleep!

Thanks guys.

Bill, glad the trip was enjoyable. Next time, I'll have to join you. Chicago's a great place to live. Wonderful restaurants, shops, sports, people and no earthquakes (no real ones at least). You should think about it.

Toby, I'm not sure about the design, yet. But I'm sure it'll be somewhere in the Darling family.

Off to the hospital...then to bed.

Regards,

Jonathan

Jonathan:

I'll gladly endure a quake now and then in exchange for NEVER shoveling, driving in, walking through, or living with snow. And I'm closer to Alembic. Think how much you'd save on shipping costs alone! Might just pay for the caterer at the wedding (glad the first two were boybys?)

Congrats!

Ironic that you say that about the new child=new guitar. For me, when my daughter was born I acquired a luthier-made classical (she likes classical music). When my son was born, it was a 6 string acoustic guitar (bit more of a rocker, he is).

I wish you joy with your new arrival! (and sleep when you can get it)

Hi, Jonathan,

I'm a bit late while I'm on vacation, but I gladly join the party here. Here's wishing all the best to the new family member, to Mummy and Daddy all the whole clan,

Thanks for all of the kind wishes. Here's a couple of Johnna, fresh out of the oven and one with big brother and big sister.

Even better looking than their matching guitars, and those Alembics are a tough act to beat! You are truly blessed, Jonathan.

Thanks everyone.

Bill...speaking of their guitars, in a couple of weeks we're going to do a black and white photo shoot of my two oldest with their Alembics. I'll post them down the line.

Congratulations, the wonders of childbirth. You better start saving for Alembics for each one of them.

Congratulations! I've got one (daughter and Alembic) and another child on the way. Do I have to get more Alembics? ... Perhaps a Series I to go with the '86 Persuader?

Best wishes to you and your family!
