I was just getting my groove back with my alembic!

Oh well, maybe I'm crazy, but this is fun too.

Stay safe Joe! It might seem fun, but don't let your guard down.

Always be on your guard Applejuice, and when you get a moment go through your favourite licks in your head and when you get back, they will still be in your hands!

All the best.

Joe,

First off, from one veteran to another, thanks for your service.

Second, there is no such thing as friendly fire.

Third, keep your head down, and always remember that most of the time, cover is better than most other options.

Fourth, 1st Cav or 4th ID?

Fifth, when in doubt, empty your magazine.

Finally, if there's anything you need, let us know. I've been there myself, and know what tough duty it can be. If you need anything, gives us a shout and I'll lead the effort to make it happen.

First Team!

Alan Dover
Major, USA (Ret)
Iraq, 2005-2006

P.S. My first duty assignment was at Fort Hood with 3rd Platoon, B Company, 2nd Battalion, 5th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Brigade, First Cavalry Division.

Joe:

Good luck and be careful. While your out there I'll be doing my best to support our troops ... by doing what I can to bring them home.

Bill, tgo

Note to Dave: I'm really trying to hold my tongue on this one. The above was as innocuous as I could muster.

Joe:

Thanks for your service. Those of you who serve so that those of us whom you will never meet can be safe and free are the closest thing to heroes that exist in this broken world. Stay safe!

To those inclined to read more into this than they should: I am praising the motivation of those who serve. That's all. Let's not dishonor Joe by taking this thread elsewhere.

Steve,

Right on. There's a saying I've heard ... there's no land of the free without the brave. Certainly Joe is one of the brave, and he has my deepest respect and best wishes for a safe return home.

Joe, do your job as safely as you can and watch everybody else's backs so that you all can come home.
Take care.
Rich
Edit: Alan, I just noticed that you were in Company B. Boogie woogie bass boy, maybe?

We ALL appreciate what these people do for us.
Take care and return home safe.
We have people out there as well, and it must be a harrowing time for them, and their families.
May God keep you all safe

Joe, I realize that you are leaving today. So, you may not read this until later. Try not to have too much fun, until you get home safely. My friend has a son in Irag, his third tour. My prayers are with all of you. Stay safe.

Sorry for the double post. I was trying to correct a typo, as not to offend anyone...I meant Iraq not Irag. I tried to cancel but it was too late.
