ratchet is a little puppy offr gwen beberg of minnesota found near a burning trash heap in iraq.
he was being carried to the plane when some putz said no.

i would think its the least the army could do considering she was laying her life on the line for us!

something tells me the dog is not an al qaida operative. Even rumsfeld might agree!

My dad was stationed in Italy as a mechanic working on B-17s in the Army Air Corp during WWII
(pre-USAF). (As an example of the Army's infinite wisdom, my dad was the least mechanical human being I have ever met.) His barracks had a little dog named Stinky. When he mustered out, they drew straws for Stinky and my dad won. When he tried to board the liberty ship home, they wouldn't let him bring Stinky on board. My brothers and I always figured that was why he would never let us get a dog when we were growing up. I guess some things never change.

Bill, tgo

I signed up for Ratchet and forwarded the link to my sister, who pesters dozens (if not hundreds) of people daily with causes, great advice and cute, cute pictures. That should get some additional results (at least from those who, unlike me, don't simply delete her spam).

Seriously, though - it sounded like the SPCA was willing to fund taking the risk off the military's back - so what's the problem?

ratchet will be reunited with its buddy. the army ala typical released the dog 30 minutes before the last flight left bagdad. So of course they saw to it he missed the flight i think the same guy handles our exit strategy.
another flight is being set up for sunday.

the people win for a change!
