Now maybe some children can't be trusted with their mallets around a Series I bass, but Erik is well-trained to only strike his tongue drum. He does insist on testing out some basses and guitars as well, but only with his fingers. Share your photos of your little cuties with an Alembic bass or guitar. Babies make everyone smile! |

Nice one, Mica. Will we be seeing an 18" scale bass built to get him started in the next year or two? Great way to make use of some of those smaller pieces of wood that need a purpose! |

start them early, I have video evidence of my son at the age of 3 playing my Squier bass. He now knocks the s**t out of it on stage at the age of 20. It doesn't seem like a year has past and Erik had just come into the Alembic world. |

Cute kids and Alembics even make cross, old men like me smile. Very enjoyable, even if little Eric and his wooden mallet give me the jitters! |

Starting them early works! In 1988, my youngest son, David, got a plastic "con-tar" (as he called it at the time) for his 3rd birthday; I was on the back porch, wearing a hat & playing, so he put one on, grabbed his ax, and joined me: Here he is last winter, gigging with his band The Ducks (from Mississippi John Hurt - "If the river was whiskey and I was a diving duck..."). He's 2nd from left: OK, his start wasn't as auspicious as Erik's, but the end result was good! Peter |
