Great reading about the Funkiest basslines. But I think something that would really be educational is What is the most overused and abused bassline? No fair using anything from the disco era. I register BARNEY MILLER as my vote.

That darn 'bucketofbolts' figure in walking bass under shuffles. You know the one . . .

1-3-4-4#-5-(quick eighth-note arpeg down to the five an octave down)-5-6-7-1.

Cream - "Sunshine of your Love" - People who have never played a bass before in their lives will automaticly pick out the opening riff.
