Guitar leads..loads of them but do they all work! XLR leads for DI to PA 9 volt batteries folding guitar stand residual current breaker - never plug into anything without protection if you see what I mean! 4 gang power extension 2 gang power extension Zoom B1u unit for tuning and some effects-very seldom used live Deodorant Towel Mini tool kit fuses Spare strings Notebook & pens Music file just in case you forgot the chords Patch leads Music stand I think that is the lot |

This is an excellent idea for a thread. I can't remember what all is in my bag; but it is heavy. My guitar stands are in a separate bag with the midi pedal board. The DI box is in the back of the rack. Tuner and effects are in the rack. Tool bag with everything an Alembic bass requres; flashlight; power cable; power strip; 5-pin cable and spare; speaker cables and spares; spare instrument cable; duct tape; electrical tape; there may be some masking tape; spare set of new strings (actually I think I'm behind on this); spare set of used strings; strap; spare strap; set list; wipe down rag; digital multimeter; I think there is an XLR cable in there; there should be some spare patch cables for the rack; pencil/pen. That's all I can remember at the moment. |

Set list? What's a set list? Oh yeah, now I remember: it's that sheet of paper someone in the band spends a lot of time on, and then becomes completely superfluous at the gig. |

I gotta ask, Ken - if you're doing sound and playing, what's the snake for? Do you play from the middle of the room, or do you do a lot of running? Peter |

Peter, The Snake is more to keep cables from tangling around the performers, with the stage box situated in front of the drummer, the mixer goes on the far left of the stage, leaving only 1 large cable between the mixer and all of those mic and keyboard connections. It makes setups much quicker and more organized. Since the mixer is digital, the key channels are routed via midi to my main controller, so once everything is set, there's no need to run back to the board. |

I guess our gig bags are the equivalent of womens purses(handbags in the UK). They hold everything!. I usually do a clean out every couple of months to keep it all in order. |

I put a bass in there.. unlike the rest of you. JK I put a lot in my pedalboard as well as far as cables and other supplies. Usually in my bag, I just put some cables, a SansAmp, strap, 9V, deoderant (as well), change of shirt for the poor saps who want to hug me after a show. |

Much of the above, and clothespins and large elastics to keep the music on the stand on breezy outdoor gigs. r. |

I've got one of those Levy's leather bags. It holds the bass, of course, and in the small top pocket, there's the allen and truss rod wrenches, 2 12AX7's, a small screwdriver, multitool, bottle of pachouli in a girl's sock, and my red, white and blue sweatband. In the big pocket, there's my 5-pin cable, picks, tuner, couple short signal cables, batteries, cloth diaper, digital multimeter, couple more sweatbands, lighter, toothbrush, and toothpaste. My main man-purse is my backpack, which goes wherever I travel. It's got all kinds of weird stuff in it, including whetstone, spare mag, chopsticks, and nail polish :-) |
