At last, Bill Kreutzmann's trio is coming out west! Even if you aren't into the Dead it might be a show worth attending if you are a bassist because it features Oteil Burbridge! And on guitar is Scott Murawski of Max Creek who also played in Mike Gordon's band over the summer. I'm really excited, I just bought my tickets to the San Francisco show Friday, Feb. 13. Here are the other shows:

Feb 12 2009 Moe’s Alley - Santa Cruz CA
Feb 13 2009 The Independent - San Francisco CA
Feb 14 2009 Eureka Theatre - Eureka CA
Feb 15 2009 Crystal Ballroom - Portland, OR
Feb 20 2009 Bluebird Theatre - Denver, CO
Feb 21 2009 Fox Theatre - Boulder CO

You can also check out Bill Kreutzmann's myspace and webspace. Maybe see some of you guys there!

Yeah, Mr. Kreutzmann is said to be very excited to be playing with Oteil and Scott. Apparently the music is a bit more free-form, and he played the jams for Robert Hunter who wrote some words!

Also, anyone interested in Languedoc guitars (as played by Trey Anastasio) should come too, because that's what Scott Murawski is playing these days. Here's a shot of him with his new Languedoc and me with my Telembic Bass (Alembicized Telecaster, just to get some Alembic content in...) and Greg DeGuglielmo on drums:

Harry:

Enjoy the show. I'd be there, but my wife and I made plans before the show was announced.

I'll be opening for the Colorado dates. Should be a lot of fun. Bill sat in with us in August (double drums for the whole set!) and he was great. The only parts he missed was where I forgot to cue him, lulled into the idea that he actually knew the music!

I've played with Oteil a few times in the past, as well. I can't wait! They should be nicely warmed up by then!

Wish I could catch those shows Edwin! I remember seeing you jam with Oteil at a post-Col. Bruce ARU show at the Plantation Club in Worcester - "Cissy Strut" I believe...

I had the pleasure of seeing Bill Kreutzmann's band on both Friday and Saturday nights - they are wonderful. I love the 3-piece improvisational format, and these guys really delivered!

By the way, Great American Taxi sounded great both nights, Edwin! Especially on Saturday; maybe it was the superior sound system at the Fox...
