I always thought Robert Palmer was 'too cool for school'. I'm just a sucker for good suits. And one of the few who did a Marvin Gaye remake that really worked. I'll always remember playing in bar bands in his 80s period. Of course we had to cover 'Addicted to Love', and our drummer took FOREVER to catch that hi-hat riff against the otherwise normal kick/snare pattern. 'I Didn't Mean to Turn You On' and the Power Station cd were favorites. Tony Thompson's (ex-CHIC) drums sounded huge ! J o e y |
