Well it’s been a little over 3 years now that I have been a member of this forum and how time flies when you’re having fun. While I don’t want to RUSH into anything I thought maybe I’d give a brief OVERTURE of my time here. I don’t want to make this too long and sound like a PREACHER of the CHURCH of PANPIPE or something so I’ll try to remain brief. While writing this about my road to self DISCOVERY here I thought about how to make my PRESENTATION seem real and not come across as a tale from an ORACLE. THE DREAM, if you will, is for this not to seem as a monologue but rather a SOLILOQUY. It should be a series of reflections but not a GRAND FINALE of my time here. While this may not be as interesting as a TRIP to THAILAND it should not come off as something from THE TWILIGHT ZONE. The LESSONS we learn from and the TEARS we shed for our friends here are things of great value to me. This board only works when we all get involved, you don’t get SOMETHING FOR NOTHING. OO (HINT: post number) |

A friend of mine walks into a bar in Milwaukee near the Summerfest grounds and takes a seat at the bar. Next to him are 3 guys, one with a long pony tail. He strikes up a conversation with the nearest guy, and asks him his name. He responds "Neil". My friend mentioned he has a son with the same name and they continue talking. He says hello to the person next to him, introduces himself, and this gentleman responds with "Alex". After some more small talk he asks the third person his name and he responds "Geddy". It dawns on him who he is speaking with. He goes to the bartender, "Do you know who these guys are? They are a big rock band" Bartender responds, "Yeah, sure, who are they?" My buddy responds, "Air Supply!" Without missing a beat they break into "I'm all out of Love..." True story... T (Message edited by lidon2001 on February 16, 2009) |

Great story T. I've been a Rush fan ever since this lp. I loved Geddy's bass sound on it. OO (If I can make it to post 5150....) |

I was wondering when the bug might strike again. 2525? 5150? Already made it past partying with 1999. |

Dave, According to what I saw, all the gifts of life are held within those walls. Rush certainly got a lot of mileage out of Ayn Rand, that's for sure. Bradley |

I guess "45.956501172304229278804891745751 to the 2nd power" would have been a prohibitively long title. I am guessing 2111.99989225 probably wouldn't have been as impressive as an album title either. |

We are the priests of the Temples of 45.956501172304229278804891745751 to the 2nd power. Sounds more like Monty Python than a dystopian future. |

Monty Python was real, unlike your average dystopian future. |
