I got a friend request from a bassplayershop.com today and had a look at the page and found this site with some interesting looking basses.

I live this block work on the body and have previously thought about that idea for a custom in the past.

I've never heard of that company before, what are their basses like?

Not so sure about a couple of the body shapes, but this is definitely world-class craftsmanship

That's funny they're in Idyllwild -- the Santa Rosa of Southern California, if there is such a thing.

By the way, dude, you spelled "hippie" wrong -- they're gonna take away your hippie ID card if you don't be careful.

I think not dude, this side of the pond we generally use the spelling Hippy although the spelling "Hippie" is also used.

So be careful you may not get your Hippy ID Card hahaha

Idyllwild is about 45 minutes away from my house and my wife and I take the kids up there every 2-3 months to walk around and go for a hike... I'll look him up the next time I go up.

IIRC- he's also a regular on Talkbass and posts stuff in the Luthier's corner section

I used to use a relatives cabin up in Idyllwild quite often back in the 80's. I also frequented a bar called Burley's (or is it Burly's). Not sure if it is still around or not. I seem to recall there being a guitar shop that built custom acoustic guitars.
