Wasn't sure how to title this thread, but's lets go...
I've put the cart before the horse and have purchased an F-1X before buying a stereo power amp, still using my SWR 350 (monoaural). Question is: how can I effectively get the "post" EQ signal from the F-1X into the SWR?
I'm guessing that it's safe to take the F-1X direct out, set to "post", and patch into the...
1. Intrument In (set the preamp EQ flat, passive input impedence: 800K Ohms, acitve input: 60K Ohms), or
2. Effects Return (this will bypass the SWR preamp gain stages, min of 27K Ohms impedence).

Also: What are the (im)practicalities of running the F-1X as a side chain using the SWR effects loop?

Okay, okay, yeah, I'm a bit hesitant to just monkey around and see what's best. Eventually, I plan to run a bi-amp system and avoid this mess, but for now any insight would be appreciated.

thanks in advance,
Mike

Mike; at the SWR site I found the manual for the new version of the 350 (they don't have the older manuals on-line). The manual says the effects return can used as a power amp input jack, effectively bypassing the preamp and turning the 350 into a power amp. The blend control should be turned all the way to wet. The master volume will still control the amount of signal being sent to the speakers.

Dave,

Thanks, I suspected that would be the way to go.
