Hello all, I was just watching my DVD called "The Prince's Trust Rock in Concert 1989". This is a benefit concert recorded in a sold out National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham (UK) in '89, attended by the Prince and Princess of Wales Charles and the late Diana. The concert features Mark King as the musical director, accompanied by the Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, and Level 42 as the house band. They accompany artists like Swing Out Sister, Mica Paris, Will Downing, Alexander O'Neill, Spandau Ballet, John Farnham, Van Morrison and Mike & the Mechanics. A fantastic concert. During almost the entire concert, Mark King plays his cocobolo and quilted maple Series II basses and they sound absolutely immaculate. He combines his Alembics with a Wal midi bass for some tracks. I think this DVD is a must have for all you Alembic fans out there. The Alembic sound is clearly present in this concert. So if you get the chance, get it! Amazon and Barnes & Noble seem to have a few in stock. Duncan |
