I'm researching ways of securing my guitars so that:
(a) It makes them difficult for someone to walk off with.
and/or
(b) Something that aids it's retrieval by identification after the event.
I've seen a device here called Musi-trac which you fit/embed in your instrument and it can be used to identify ownership if it is found/recovered.
http://www.chiptrac.co.uk/chiptrac.htm From the picture, it looks like there is a coil inside and I wonder if this would have any adverse effect on the electronics if it was fitted inside the control cavity.

Smartwater is another option from my insurance company but wondered if there is anything else on the market so I can decide what works best. http://www.smartwater.com/Home.aspx

I've recently started doing quite a few very small gigs again with no area's that are off-limits to the public so our equipment is easily accessible to the public before and after we play. Other gigs we have back stage access but that is not always secure either.

I'm sure I'm not alone in having had less expensive guitars that were used for gigs in dodgy venues whilst keeping the more valuable ones for better/safer venues. Unfortunately for me I'm reaching the point where I don't have any sacrificial lambs anymore so I just want to make sure I keep what I have.

Any suggestions.

Looks interesting, does it interfere with your electronics at all and is it charged via the 5 pin cable?

i actually cut out a secret slot inside my case to slide it in beacuse large body alembics most likely wont be switched cases where'as a short scale or smaller body bass will fit easily into any other smaller case........but i only use it when out gigging or on the road somewhere .http://www.highbeam.com/doc/1G1-113052473.html
