Hi Guys, I uploaded a new video from last Friday doing an open mike and trying to keep my chops up. Original tune called 'Ho' Down' inspired by yet another television commercial. Still working it and have a ways to go yet but if I do say so myself it shows a lot of potential. Hope you like it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NtJWsF3UTds Best Regards, Kimberly PS. I'm still recovering from my thumb injury and am still only accepting limited bookings and even then only enough to make my bills. On a positive 'note' ;) I'm healing. |

Hi Guys! I appreciate the comments and feedback, thank you very much! Georgie, I'm using an Boss RC-50 loop station with two loops happening. I'm sure any looper on the market could duplicate this part of the tune. The first line is made using the T-Wah Up setting on a Boss ME-50B with the parameters running 'flat', or rather straight up 12 o'clock. The second line is 'straight bass' and then I switch back to the ME-50B for the 'melody' section. The synth 'solo' is using a Roland GR-20 synth set up for bass with a GK3-B p/u mounted on my instrument. I don't remember which voicing I'm using on the synth, though I'm certain it's a pre-set without any 'tweaks'. I'm also running with no backline and through a small PA which gives me a higher frequency response than a bass amp, though in this instance the lows were lacking. I think it really does help 'my sound' though getting those higher frequencies. As an aside I 'threw' the synth solo in as an experiment and kinda like the way it worked out so it's likely going to become a 'regular' part of the tune. I'll also probably throw in a B section, but for now it's a pretty typical 'Kimberlyesque style' loop. Glad you guys liked it and thank you again for the feedback! Best Regards, Kimberly |
