Tomoji Tanabe, the world's oldest man, died in his sleep at his home in southern Japan on Friday, a city official said. He was 113.

he wasnt a musician but since the site is an obituary column i thought i would post this.....

I believe we are all musicians. As a friend of mine wrote in a poem many, many years ago: "Listen, as we hum the tune of life."


My friend and fellow poet -- whom I played football with in high school -- put a gun to his head and killed himself about two years ago.

Mr. Tanabe hummed a long and hopefully happy tune of life.
