Pop star and cultural icon Michael Jackson, has died in Los Angeles today, according to media reports. He was 50.

I loved much of his music. I think he was a tortured soul. God's blessings to his fans and his family.

I was at a rehearsal tonight, and all 5 of us, aged 19-54, got text/phone messages about it within the space of an hour or so. To me that really shows how much he touched people's lives with his music.

RIP, King of Pop.

I saw him in the 80's in Toronto what a showman, what a genius.

I came off stage last night to this news (who plays on their internet phone during a rock concert?).
For all his alleged shortcomings, michael was a fantastic performer and drove pop music forwards many times. He will be missed.
