Here's something for the guitar players, every year I build a Guitar or Bass and donate the proceeds to my favorite charity which is St. Judes and have been doing this since 1983. This time I used a Ash body blank and did a swirl paint with hand painted accents by me and made it in the style of a Ibanez Gem with some added custom cuts that were done by the grip and back top of body and front tips. see photo

The guitar you see in the pictue lis not Laquered yet but will be finished in a high gloss Nitrocelluose and buffed to a professional shine, along with Black chrome hardware, pickups and I have a new Ibanez shark tooth neck that was donated for the project with locking tremolo.
All electronics will be included and this will be a finished product to the winner. Auction will be set up on Ebay so I am giving some members a first view heads up on it.
I will gladly provide any paperwork stating that it was custom built by me to the winning individual. Anyone interested in following the auction should contact me via my email here and let me know. I will then put you on a list and let you know when the auction begins , which should be in approximately 2 weeks or less I will also include all the photo's taken during the building, primer and paint stages to the winner for your records
There will be a low reserve on this starting at $500.00 any questions contact me directly and yes this is a one of a kind Paint job and custom body cheers everyone..John Judge

Thanks guy's, I will keep you posted, my father in law actually loved this paint job so much that he asked me if I would do his three wood, needless to say it is the talk of the country club.

Here it is finished before pulling the tape off the club face.
Sorry for the light glare, the guitar finish will be high gloss like this when completed

I don't know how he can look down at the head and the ball but he hit's it straight Lol3 wood golf club

Looks marvelous John, it is of particular interest to me as I have recently completed my own first bass build! The finish is very striking. Will you be employing your "resonator" pickup system?

A very noble charitable cause also....nice one, you are a good man!

John.

No, this guitar is not set up for the resonator device but after the Raven Bass is built, I am considering trying the idea on a Solid body guitar. It should turn out interesting with some high output pickups and overdrive to see how well it rocks out, it will be interesting to see what kind of tones are produced and the Harmonic values.

here is when the body just got routed and starting to shape with surforms and files and you can see the shape of the tips
here is where it has been white primed and some green fogged over to help accent the hand painted area's since these photo's, guitar has been leveled and is ready for finish coat and buff, hopefully next weekend

Very nice and JEM like! Is the paint job a swirl? How did you do it?

it is part swirl with hand painted accents highlighting area's and to form somewhat patterns, as I have perfected somewhat of a way to direct where approximately the swirl goes on the guitar as far as the pattern goes, so there is a little more direction as far as the procedure goes which helps me to place it accordingly, but it is still never 100% to be able to make any two alike.

You could mix some of your blood into the paint like Steve Vai did! That was a little too weird for me though. Maybe some sweat instead!

It's a great looking guitar!!!
