I have several as well. I am in the tribal design-mode; my body seems to absorb the color red, so I am sticking with black ink these days. Years ago I had the reaper from the cover of Blues For Allah tatooed on my forearm. Within 45 days all the red was gone. I had it redone, but the red went away again...

Nice Olie.
Ben, I didn't know that could occur. So far so good with the ones I've got (3 1/2 years).
I'm planning the next one now.

"Agnus Dei" (Lamb of God) Bill. I wrote out the score and the artist did the work.

This tattoo was the inspiration for the inlays on the Alpha Omega bass.

Art,

Some people have that issue and some don't. That particular tat is almost 30 years old. Some of the colors have remained, but some, the red in particular, have disappeared.

My Tattoo represents my 2 passions: Music and Medicine. The bass is my Alembic SC. The neck of the bass stands in for the Rod of Asclepius. The banner contains a line from the Hippocratic Oath: "May I Enjoy My Life and Practice My Art" which (I think) applies to both medicine and music.

Very nice indeed Mike.

Both of mine represent something I am very passionate about.
This is on my left arm.

The color is misleading I use a phone cam. I' see if I can get a good shot so you can see the detail.

Art, I have actually been toying around with the ideal of incorporating the Alembic logo into one of mine.

Yours in cool.

Art, yours is one of the very few tats I've seen that actually uses white ink instead of just leaving it naked. Very nice!

I hear you Peter, the one of mine in the link above has some white inked used THREE times on the Dive flag and it still looks like skin. The whit doesn't tke too well on me. Of course I spend a lot of time in the sun.

Bill, "roll up" some pain reliever and sit back in the chair. ;)

I like the outcome so the pain is easy to overlook and block out.

The white turned out really nice on this - as it's healing it's becoming only a bit more opaque - but still definitely white. I went for the straight up logo for inspiration. Years ago I placed the Hyak logo on me as well (prior to owning an Alembic) but it is on my upper right chest where I really can't enjoy it myself. This one was totally for me to enjoy and be inspired by - easily seen at any time ;)

Some kind of logo billboard I guess ;) I'm already planning for the next one and I don't think this one will be logo driven.

I have a huge tattoo that covers my left arm and runs straight over my shoulder, covers my chest and ends at my nipple - a Koi fish conquering the "dragons gate" waterfall and subsequently "becoming" a golden dragon.

It comes from chinese budhist legend ......fifteen hours of pain. For anyone here who hasnt had a tattoo on the "pec" let me tell you it is one of the most painful parts of the body to have tattooed - but it was worth it!

Sounds like a good one John! I've heard that the top of the foot is also a good and painful place.

I don't have any tattoos myself, though I have one I'd like to have done if I ever get it translated...a personal affirmation/declaration into arabic; just 'cause arabic writing is cool and I've been there; could be a problem at borders though...
The Alembic logo is cool! nice work! now we'll all get our Alembics tattooed on ourselves, which will be extra painful if ya sell one!

OK Olie, I'll bite: Please explain the significance of your left arm tat. Looks like something out of Revelation! By the way, are you a diver too? I'm a PADI Divemaster - underwater photography one of my hobbies.

Correct on both accounts Kris. The left arm was inspired by Revelation 1:12-16.

And yes sir I am a diver. I was certified through "Nase" about 10 years ago. I only get to dive about 3 or 4 times a year but I love it.
