In response to this thread I just wanted to say I saw springsteen in Glasgow last night and he was amazing. From Nils Lofgren's entry playing Flower of Scotland on accordian to a rousing 'Twist and Shout' 3 hours later, Bruce had the capacity crowd at hampden Park in the palm of his hand. He mixed up the set with many hits interspersed with some of his lesser known songs but didn't lose the crowd's attention at any time. Naturally, songs like Born to Run, Thunder road and Dancing in the Dark garnered the biggest response but quieter / slower numbers like Waiting on a sunny day and Hard times were equally well received. Overall, the sound quality was as good as you could expect in a sports stadium - the bass was often lost in the mix but that didn't really affect my enjoyment of the evening. this review from STV says it all really. I defy anyone to come away from one of his gigs in a bad mood;-) Mind you, my patience was being tried 2 1/2 hours later when I was still making my way home (40 miles or so). Graeme |

Thanks, Graeme! Glad you went to the show and glad you had a great time. (I was going to make some editorial comment, but I guess I will leave it lay.) Good show ! |

Bruce is one of the truly great showmen of his generation. I've seen him many times over the years. He has never dissapointed. Even the the show I caught during the Seeger Sessions tour (which included none of his hits and no electric instruments to speak of) was electrifying. |
