Today is my 25th anniversary with my company. There have been ups and downs but it really is a great place to be. It sure doesn't seem that long looking back. Maybe another 5 and I'll call it a day. Maybe.

Sam,
Congrats on your anniversary. Not many folks make that many years with the same company these days. I hear you on the might call it a day. I've got 30 years next month and am trying to decide if it is time to call it a day and do something different.

Congratulations Sam. 25 years is a heck of a long time. I've been with my current employer for 11 1/2 and they've just announced they're to lose 690 posts at my level. Woohoo ;-(

Congrats Sam
Like Keith said, not many people can claim that now days.
When I hit 30 yrs I called it a life..thought that was long enough doing same thing.
But in todays economic markets it's a hard call.

Gentlemen, thanks for the kind words. I have to say, George, I was hoping for a photo of you in your SET gear!
Good luck with the cutbacks, Graeme. I know how that is. I survived two layoffs, one in 1989 and again this past spring. Tense times indeed.

I worked for ICI here in Teesside, I joined in 1988 when it was all still good. My late uncle told me that I would never work for a better company, mortgage brokers, banks would give you loans on the basis that you worked for ICI.
No other pension company could compete with their fund. It was a job for life, loads of benefits.I didn't even make 20 years with ICI.
Now we are in our 3rd takeover and I don't care anymore, at this latest takeover we got the talk off the MD..as far as I am concerned it's the same speil with different faces and branding.
Sam..you are one of the lucky ones to go so long with a company which obviously cares or you wouldn't have stayed there.
I don't give a s**t about companies..as long as I get a pay check at the end of the month and they are happy with my work. Bitter,,not me(LOL)
