Ok, I feel like a dumbass...I took my rig apart to switch things around in the rack case, and now when I use my series bass I am only getting the neck pickup, no bridge pickup. I am using a demeter pre, an sf2 wired into the demeter effects loop, a ds5r, and a qsc power amp. Things are wired as follows: Bass into the DS5R. Line out from the DS5R (is in mono) to the demeter input. Effects send from the demeter into the the chan A input of the SF2. Chan B SF2 output goes into the effects return of the demeter. SF2 switch is in mono. Unbalanced output of the demeter to the input of my power amp. When the 1/4" jack on the series II is used directly plugged into the demeter there is no problem. Ive taken this apart multiple times and put it back together, so I am now at a loss as to what the problem could be. |

I don't mean to be insulting, but I'll start with the easiest things first. Was everything working before the rewire? If you switch the DS5R to stereo and plug the demeter input into the DS5R outputs, does each output contain the appropriate neck/bridge signal? Are you sure you are plugged into the correct output of the DS5R? When switched to mono, only one jack has the combined signal. Loch |

Yes, everything was working fine prior to the rewire. All cables have been checked on another system, so I know they all work. On the DS5R the output jack I am using is the bass/mono jack, with the front panel switch set to mono. When used in this manner the neck pup works, the bridge does not. When I switch the output jack to the treble jack the bridge pup works and bass does not. Edit: Ok, so I am not going nuts. I replaced the DS5R with my DS5, using the bass/mono out into my demeter like i did with the ds5r and everything works perfectly. I guess I have a problem with my DS5R??? When you have the switch set to mono, can you still get the bridge output from the bridge jack? Looking at the circuit diagram, you shouldn't be able to - the bridge jack should be dead. If you are still getting output, you may want to try flipping the switch to the stereo position and see what happens. Maybe the switch is working backwards from how it's labeled. BTW, do you have a copy of the power supply circuit diagram? I know it's posted here in the forum somewhere, but not in the FAQ where you would expect. |

Greg, It looks like my schedule will be clear for tomorrow's gathering and I am planning on bringing at least my rack (DS5R,F1X,SF2,QSC3402 ETC.). If I get time, I will bring my schroeder cabinets. We can run thru things at the studio and see where the problem is with your system. Regards, Pete |

Backwards switch certainly seems like the best candidate right now. |

A couple things to try; exercise the stereo/mono jack 30 times exercise the stereo/mono switch 30 times try a different cable between the DS-5R and the Demeter. I know you said you checked the cables on another system, but sometimes a particular mono cable won't fit just right in a stereo jack |
