Every once in a while I play around with this tune, but I always get the chords wrong. So I want to look up the chords, but I can't remember the name of the song. It's an old instrumental song that was popular in the late 50's or early 60's. It's in 3/4 time (or perhaps 6/8 if you prefer), and the introduction is two chords repeated once. I have no idea of the original key, but let's say that the two chords in the intro are E and D, and then of course E and D again. The melody is a string of descending dotted half notes (remember were in 3/4) starting on E. So, four measures on the E chord with a descending melody of E, D#, C#, B, and then four measures on the D chord with a melody of D, C#, B, A; then repeat. If you play the above, you should recognize the song. It may have been the theme from a movie. So, can anybody name this tune? |

It reminds me of the theme from "Midnight Cowboy." |
