Just picked a Gibson Robo Les Paul. Very cool gizmo! Sam Ash has-had them for $999 w case. The bloody things work! Perfect for the guy who likes multiple tunings and Gibsons. I always get gassy while I wait for a custom from my Santa Rosa Family. I ended up with green metallic with white bound neck and headstock. You may not believe it but the black one was not as nice in comparison. Played great from the start, no fiddling or adjusting at all. One of the few bright spots in a down economy. Guitar sales. |

Cool! As I recall, that's the thing with the motors that can change tuning on the fly? |

Wow... the price REALLY dropped on those things!!! Is that the new "street" price or are they just trying to get rid of them??? Gibson has gotten a reputation for being kind of "jumpy" with their products; therefore, I wonder if they might be getting ready to shit-can the whole concept. For $999 you got yourself a nice guitar even if the technology (and the ability to repair it) disappears. |

Oh sure, it sounds great now, but how long until it starts stealing old people's medication for fuel? You'd better have insurance! (Okay this may be an obscure reference: http://www.robotmarketplace.com/video_oldglory_hi.html) |

That's great! Sam almost lost it for a second. I wonder how many takes he took to get thru it without laughing. Nice find, Kevin. |

Nick; the guitar in the Buckethead video doesn't look to me like the guitar shown on the Gibson site. |

I don't think B-head is using a robogibson in that video. He's using a whammy pedal for that sound. Cool vid though! |

He has a cut switch that he uses to interrupt the signal and as bluplirst stated a whammy pedal. If you go to the site Dave posted and click on the studio ltd, you get the green model I have. They may be keeping the concept because they improved the system with a readout on the new dark fire model. http://www2.gibson.com/Products/Electric-Guitars/Les-Paul/Gibson-USA/DarkFire.aspx |

My bad. Nice toy, though. Instant tuner/intonater. I love innovation. |
