Have any of you tried with success any self powered speakers? I'm imagining plugging into my F1/X, then running a line out to a great sounding self powered speaker box. Any thoughts?

By the way: As soon as I get some images, I'll post shots of my new love- A Balance point MK Deluxe 5 string in Coco bolo. Oh, the sound!!!!!

Aside from some self-powered PA bins (JBL's EONs, Mackies, and so forth) the only dedicated bass guitar powered cabinets I'm aware of are various cabinets from EBS. Anybody else out there know of any more?

Their US distribution is kind of spotty, but since I see you live in NYC, I'm sure there must be a dealer there.

Bag End makes a self-powered ELF sub for home hifi that I've long wished they would make for stage use. Oh well . . .

I was just reading about Phil Lesh's current setup using powered speakers by Meyer Sound. The article says he uses an Eden WT-800 head to send a post-preamp signal to a Meyer Sound EQ spliting the signal sending the highs to two Meyer Sound 1x12s and the lows to two Meyer 2x18s. Since the speakers are powered Phil doesn't use the Eden's power amp.
This is from Bass Player Bass Gear magazine pg. 54.

You better have a lot of cash for the Meyers!
Mackie and Crest have come out with some good models that my buddy uses for PA. He raves about the Crest.
