It took some ingenuity, but after completing the retro-fit, they look fabulous. I'll show pictures. These home made leather fasteners (I made) works better than anything on the market and it keeps metal away from the wood period. My conversions, had just significantly increased the value of these belts, more than 10 fold. Converting these belts, were really fun to do, if you are into arts and crafts... (as I am) and I'll probably make more, if I find other interesting varieties. My Shorty had them on (leather strap locks) when I found her, and back in the 80's, I used them on my first Alembic S1. I loved them so much, I went to a leather tannery shop, and purchased several feet of cowhide and made them for all my guitars. It's easy to do, and the hardware was very easy to locate. I live and breath by them.
