I have a bass that I bought from a bass music store called Bassalone out of California. It is suppose to be a Becvar 4. It has the same symbol on the headstock as the others I've seen, but it has a different style body and head stock. It has a black lacquer finish with a wood grain upper cutout extending out of the lacquer finish. It has EMG active pickups and brass inlays. I was wondering if you might have any further information about this bass. Feel free to email me.

Sounds interesting, Nick; if you post pictures, those who know these things will be better able to assist you (and the rest of us will be better able to drool!). Welcome to the board.

I have a couple of Becvars, and they don't look anything like you describe. I would love to see pictures too!

You can find pictures on my facebook. Just search for Nick Johnson around the Jonesboro, AR area.

The links are only good if you have a Facebook account- in case some of you don't.

Thanks Toby from those of us that don't have Facebook accounts.

That is an interesting and unique bass.

Wow. That's awesome.

That would be a nice piece in my collection! LOL

I remember seeing one just like that many years ago at BassNW.

Is that a bolt on neck? I would love to see a full picture of the back of that beauty. Especially the neck joint and the back of the headstock.

It is a bolt on, I've been meaning to put some more pictures up but my camera broke. I'll try to put some up some time soon.
