I just went to one of my favorite sites: harmony-central.com. It was the best site I've found to read real user reviews of instruments and equipment. I was very dismayed to discover that they have totally f**ked it up in the name of "progress". I don't think it's just that I'm an old fart. The site seems to be essentially unnavigable now. If someone can figure out how to surf user reviews like before, PLEASE tell me the secret! bwwwaaahhhhhh! Bill, tgo |

I have not been there in a while, but I've read on Talkbass that many of the old reviews are gone. Simply lost in the shuffle. I agree, it will be missed. It used to be a great resource. |

It seems there was quite a bit of disappointment: _________________________ "Announcement: WE LISTENED: IMPORTANT NEWS REGARDING THE FUTURE OF HC All of Harmony Central, including the highest levels of management, have assessed the situation with HC 2.0. Everyone is in agreement that the site is broken and that the sentiments of the community are largely valid. Frankly, we are as disappointed as you are. We assure you that the current situation will not continue. A contingency plan that responds directly to the requests of the community is almost complete, and will be put into place as soon as humanly possible. Please stay tuned for further developments. We appreciate your patience during this extremely trying period. We are doing everything we can to deliver the Harmony Central you have come to expect. Sincerely, Your Harmony Central Team by Anderton at Apr 15, 2010 5:22 PM" ______________________________ ~~ |

Is that Steve Anderton? I used to see his writings in tech magazines in the 90s, I'm thinking Videography and Video Systems IIRC. It might have been computer or audio mags as well. Okay, so I don't read as much as I used to... Mike |

Craig- Anderton basically started the DIY effects craze, if we're talking about the same guy. Maybe we're not. |

I think you're right Kevin. Craig Anderton has a TON of books and info on the HC site along with some blogging I believe...but now I can't deal with the NEW HC 2.0 to post some links. Argh! And I agree with Bill...waaahhh they ruined it, the big ruiners!! |

Wow....I just visited the new HC, what a horrible layout, and to top it off it looks like you need to re-register or something. |
