One of my favorite players. I loved him with the late Shawn Lane and his more Indian stuff, too. When I watch this video I can't figure out which of his hands is the more incredible...

I'm a a huge fan of Jonas'. I've been listening to his playing since he was in mahavishnu and the mclaughlin trio in the 80's and have several of his solo albums (on LP - the only way to listen). We were lucky enough to meet him at the UK bassday in 2006 when he came to do a session. he was a really nice, humble guy to chat with.

Has anyone out there tried any of his signature amps/cabs by Warwick?

Joey.

T.M. Stevens played at Bassday 2 years ago and used a full hellborg rig. His tone was excellent and the rig easily filled the auditorium with sound. Overall, it was an awesome sound and I'd have considered one but they're VERY expensive. Coincidentally, Bass Guitar Magazine (uk based) ran a competition to win a full rig at the same time. I didn't win :-(

DR, Jonas Hellborg strings are on all of my 4 strings. I especially love them on my p-bass. Awesome sound, the feel is great even though they look like piano strings, and i've been playing the same sets on my basses for almost 3 years. They sound better and better the older they get. My only complaint is they do not make B-strings, alas my 5 string distillate is still looking for the perfect string(or is it me?) TRy these strings most people shouldn't be dissappointed. Good fingerstyle tone, good pick tone, and if i was a slapper i think they would sound good too. By the way i have no connections to DR, just like these strings. By the way Jonas is a bad ass player!......Bear
