i was wondering if anyone knows any info on these or has some good pictures of one, they look pretty cool to me, the reason he stopped using them that i've heard is because he sweats so much live that it was shorting out the electronics(GROSS!!!) but this is the only good pic i foundd(half way down the page)

Yes, I heard the same thing about the sweat shorting out his basses so he dropped Spector and switched to Sadowsky. The Spectors looked cool, but personally I think he should have stayed with Alembic the whole time. :D

I heard some bootleg recordings from '94-'95 where the bass would drop out for a while, so I assume it was because of sweat!

I haven't found any good pics of the bass other than the Woodstock '94 performance, which you've probably seen. But here is a pretty good quality clip - you can definitely see the sweat here!

It looks like his has black hardware, not gold like on the Spector site.

oh yes, i loved his Series II Spoilers, makes me want to get one, and of course his monster 3 pickup Elan, but i think for the unfortunate change to more alternative music the Sadowsky switch was necessary, they sound good and are nice and punchy but still would have loved to see him play Alembics even longer, unfortunate about his amp accident :-/

i actually had not seen the clip before, thanks a lot! i think that bass is really cool looking and wouldn't mind having one, i wonder if Spector would be willing to make a custom with that shape or even Alembic ;-), but yea i definitely see the black hardware instead of gold

i was kidding about getting an Alembic version, if i was getting an Alembic it'd be a Series II Spoilers because i love the ones Newsted used, but would love a custom Spector in that shape/headstock

Hm, the November 2002 Featured Custom comes to mind (Autumn Delight).

If my memory doesn't deceive me, there was also a prototype built in "plain" wood, which received a chromalusion finish.

good find Adriaan, it looks very simlar just a few things like the bottom not going out as far and near the controls doesn't cut in as much, so it would be possible to get something really close made if not exactly like it, i think it would look good with an Elan headstock
