Taylor, if I may add: "... all the emo kids I see around play like one note songs", and then cry about it.... Cool video, hard to see kids these days that can actually play something other than Coldplay. Greg |

So aside from the kid having funny hair and a decent bass what's the point? Going thru ALL the YouTube vids of people playing this tune kind of pisses me off... I remember choosing it for our ensemble in college, and our instructor (a percussionist) tearing me a new one. I don't think he even knew the tune, but in reading it off the Real Book, he felt I embelished the head too much (hardly)... Needless to say, it was better than half the crap on YT..... My favorite version is probably on the Metheny/Holland/Haynes album. |

well I thought it was a decent rendition by one of the many unknowns in the world. I don't think it is bad to take a standard and do your own interpretation, we did a jazz version of 'Teenage Kicks' which was originally by The Undertones. Each to their own I suppose |

i agree with taking things and making them your own, the band i'm in plays "Bad Moon Rising" by CCR and we turned it into an up-beat "punkish" kind of song, everyone says they love it because there's so much energy and it makes them want to jump around ~Taylor |
