Going thru ALL the YouTube vids of people playing this tune kind of pisses me off... I remember choosing it for our ensemble in college, and our instructor (a percussionist) tearing me a new one. I don't think he even knew the tune, but in reading it off the Real Book, he felt I embelished the head too much (hardly)... Needless to say, it was better than half the crap on YT..... I don't think it is bad to take a standard and do your own interpretation, we did a jazz version of 'Teenage Kicks' which was originally by The Undertones.
