Best Body Shape for a Medium Scale Bass

Author Message willie Intermediate Member Username: willie Post Number: 156 Registered: 11-2003 Posted on Saturday, August 21, 2010 - 7:01 am:    I'm having a custom Mark Deluxe 4 string built with a medium scale neck with extra light strings. I want this bass to be able to be held high up like Mark hold his bass for the best angle for slapping and his style of playing. I have a Europa long scale and love that body shape. But I was wondering if a Standard or Standard point would be a better body shape for this application. I was going to get the Europa body and peg head but just wanted to see if anybody had an opinion on which body shape would be better. I haven't seen anyone post pictures of a medium scale Europa but would like to see how it looks. I was wondering if the Standard body shape more comfortable held higher than a Europa body. I have a balance 'K' sig dlx and have in the past had it as high as mark does. It was pretty comfortable and being a smaller body didn't look too stupid. However, I now play it pretty low as I don't slap. I play w/ my strap high, and have a 32" standard omega.
