Hey, Folks!
I know these aren't Alembics (and for my milestone 100th post to not even be Alembic oriented is almost sacrilege), but I just had to share this. Scroll down and check out the pics...

zoinks....

Just think of the maintenance! youd have to hire someone just to come in and do dust them, oil the fretboard once a year, etc....

Is this a form of hoarding?? If I kept every instrument I ever bought I'd be just as bad or worse (I play 6 instruments) but when I want something new I sell something old to finance it.

There is a fine line between being a "hoarder" and a "collector".

I wonder if there is anyone with that many basses in their alembic only collection.

I get happy thinking about having all those basses until I get bored with the thought, then I am happy again, for not owning them.

Anybody want a boat?

Peace and Love,

Jazzy- I seem to remember Rami saying something along the lines of "i'd take a picture of all of my alembics, but i just don't have the floorspace." Don't want to speak for him, though. But I do remember he had a BUNCH of Excels in the showcase.

To me, 'Gibson Bass' (and I previously owned a Ripper and an RD) is an oxymoron on the level of 'government intelligence' and 'jumbo shrimp'.

I recall that Rami has a serious collection of Alembics, I had him in mind when I posted my comment hoping he will show us his splended collection. Although I notice he hasn't been posting many comments on the forum in recent years. So we may have to wait patiently in the hope that it will happen.

that is one of, if not, the craziest amount of basses 1 person can own, and as incredible/awesome as that is, i find that i only play 2 basses at a time(even though i have 7...) but i guess it's an issue of each having a special meaning because there's no way he could possibly play each one. i know that the only reason i still have my Ibanez Iceman bass is because it's such a cool design(one of the original with all black body and cream binding) and because it was my first non-starter bass.

Wow,

One day Gibson will come to him like Gretsch did with Randy Bachman for info, as he's obviously got the best collection of Gibson basses EVER...
