Hey Keavin,

I got to spend an afternoon at Stanley's house a while back. I was interviewing him for the cover of Bass Froniters Magazine which is now defunct. You could say I was a bit nervous. He was very gracious and welcoming. He really opened up when we started talking about the Lakers!!!
After the "official" interview we exchanged a bunch of stories about people and players that we both knew at the time.
He truely is one of my all time heroes of the bass. I had to let him know that while I was there too. Boy, what a day that was!!!!!

Peace,

D

Hey Keavin,

I talked to his tech about his Alembics. He really didn't say how many Stan has. He basically just said he's got a bunch of basses. At the time he was using two basses and the rest were either in parts or at the house.
He didn't say if his son was playing or not, he just mentioned how when Jaco was alive, Jaco would always send him a birthday present.
I never asked him about the sterling either. I got the impression that he wasn't that much of a gear head. He plays what he likes and he seems to stick with that. I could be totally wrong in that assumption but thats the feeling that I got.
