I see Limewire is no longer available as freeware or to use for P2P The law has finally put the stop on them. Although it was illegal you could get some rare or different stuff from there(12 re mixes etc) |

I have subscribed to Napster for the last few years.Better downloads and don't get any viruses like I did when I did use limewire. There are still some free sites out there but I changed my way of thinking bout it when free downloading became a copyright infringement issue...........to use or not to use? Guess thats a personal issue! |

My way of thinking was I PAID them for the program so if something was being done illegal it was on them not me. |

Raymond, whether or not you paid them may not get you off if it came down to it, although getting heat for this seems like a really unlikely scenario. If that were an adequate defense it could be used for all kinds of things. What would matter is if they represented to you that what they were doing was legal, your payments were going to cover royalties and you relied on that information. If that's the case, then you might have a claim to recover what you paid them. However, it would probably cost you more to recover than what you lost. This is part of the nature of getting scammed, speaking from bitter experience. Not that I'm in a position to give legal advice. Yet. |
