I need help pricing my Modulus 12 string carbon-graphite neck guitar. Shameless copy of the Greg Lake 8-string bass from Works tour that I had custom built for me. Totally mint, never toured and I have a flight case(some San Fran Co. mint too and it is strong). I'm thinking of trying to get like $1,700. I know it would cost about $10K to make one new but we all know how that goes unless you've got "the" buyer. Here's the pic's link on photobucket. http://s698.photobucket.com/albums/vv349/KDIcenine/ |

Looks a lot like Alembic hardware on there, bridge and tailpiece. Also pickups and electronics? Good luck with the sale! |

Wow that's a beauty. I'm not a guitarist, nor particularly informed about the guitar market, but I'd like to think you could get a bit more than that for such an unusual instrument. |

$1700 seems like a steal for an instrument that nice. If you have the time, and are willing to sell it for at least that amount, you could always post it on ebay with that number as a starting bid, and see what the market will bear. I wouldn't have been surprised to see someone ask over $2000 for such a unique instrument. The fact that it is a 12 string may hurt your odds a little bit. They do tend to attract a limited crowd. I'd also like to know about the hardware and electronics. Alembic guts would certainly raise the interest level of a lot of folks around here. |

Guts are all EMG active and no hum pickups. The knobs are the same Alembic uses. All the hardware like the tailpiece and bridge are custom carbon fiber. The saddles are brass but were carbon and I had them changed. |

Keith, If I didn't already have a 12-string electric I would be emailing you now. It seems like a good deal on a very nice instrument. |
