Ya'll do that in the UK also I see. I thought that was just an American bit of nonsense like green beer for St Patrick's day. My wife should have been born on April 1. She's a prankster year round. Hey Andrew, your shoe's untied. Sam |

I always thought April 1 jokes were because that was the day that Spanish troups were driven out of the Dutch town of Den Briel by independence fighters ("1 April, Alva verliest z'n bril" - the Duke of Alva lost his glasses, haha). But that's 16th century history, and that means I don't know half of it. April Fool's Day seems to be a world-wide phenomenon. Anyone have a better insight? |

I'm trading in my 3 Alembics and my Guild, so I can go and buy a Kent bass and a St. George bass... Alright, who's ready to bid on some mighty fine swampland. Mike |

I'm a Florida boy. I already own some swampland complete with snakes, 'coons, and skeeters. No gators though. |

What Sam ...no GATORS!!!!!??!?!?! Mmmmm ...we'll ask Brother Michael the old Alembics one. He told me he has a good stock of gators too. (They LOVE the pampering effect of his bassplaying and the sound of the +25 years Alembics). LOL Paul TBO |

I do have some deer back in the woods. They love to come up a night and eat Debi's flowers. That's pretty funny. To me, not her. Sam |

What's the big deal about Alembics?? I bought two, but I'm real tired of them. None of my musician friends can even pronounce the name. "Olympic" they say, and I say "yeah, Olympic". It's downright embarrassing. I played an Ibanez at GC yesterday, and for $299.00, it sounded pretty good...everyone can pronounce 'Ibanez'. All those knobs on an Alembic, they just drive you crazy...I only have two hands, ya know. The $299 bass has two knobs...perfect. And no silly toggle switches, either. I think I'll donate my fancy schmancy California basses to a good cause, who needs all those different kinds of wood on one guitar, anyway? Makes you dizzy just looking at it, all those different colors and swirls. Give me a good piece of balsa wood, and I'll make my own damn guitar, and for a lot less money. I'm sure it'll sound just as good, maybe better. Yeah, I've had it with Alembic. I'm off to my local pawn shop via the Salvation Army to see if I can lighten my load (literally...that damn Signature series weighs almost 12lbs...I can barely lift the flippin' thing, no less attempt to sling it over my shoulder). Maybe someone who doesn't know much about guitars will be happy with them. After that, I'll yonder over to Guitar Center...they'll know the right bass for me. Later................. |
