They better make it to the UK or at least somewhere hot in Europe.

Also addressed here. Definitely looking forward to it! I have the DVD of the last tour but didn't make any of the shows in person - this time I'm going to make more of an effort!

I have just booked for two tickets, so come hell or high water my wife and I will be there.

I have not seen Stanley live since his tour with Miroslav Vitous back many, many, many, moons ago.

I hope he plays his Alembic. Maybe I could get him to sign my backplate?

Yeeeeee Haaaaaa!!!!!

Thanks Jazzyvee for the information and link to ticketing.
I love this club and the people in it.

I haven't seen them since the '70s when Stanley and I were wee lads. I hope they make it close by here!

I am going tonight. I'll see if I can take some photos of Stanley's rig/gear.

The concert was great. Played from 8:00 - 11:00 with a 20 min interval.
Line up was;
Chick Corea
Stanley Clarke
Jean-Luc Ponti
Lenny White
Frank Gambale
Stanley played 2 Alembics and an upright. No Spellbinder! Three rigs - one for each bass.
Small fender for the upright. Ampeg with 2 4x 10's for his black series 1 and could not tell what the other was with a single 4x 10 ampeg.
the sound guy did a great job though - except for
some buzzing coming through at regular intervals damn that was annoying. Pictures = failed.
I must say that the buckeye burl looks great from the audience and even beter from up close.
Highlights were JLP - Mirage, CC Spain and second encore tune SC School days.
Stanley seemed to own the stage and the way he and Lenny worked together was something that any bass player could wish for, small gestures made for total rhythm changes.
Biggest applause was for Stanleys solos and feature tunes.
The $155.00 ticket price was well worth it.

So how did Gambale fit with the RTF material?

Gambale was like an add on. Really not standing out all that much.
Played one extended solo that seemed to annoy Chick who was trying to get Franks attention at the latter stages of the solo.
As a player he fit in well but IMHO is not at the "star level" of the other "members"
Obviously Frank can hold his own in any situation but in this instance was noticably a "fill in player"

No disrespect meant to anyone in RTF IV but I am only relaying to you what I saw.
