Blazing Rocco action! This is one of those bands that just kind of happened spontaneously - a great collection of innovative players that came together and created something unheard of at the time (or since, really). Great fun! Jimmy J |

I love those 16th note pulse grooves, along with the excellent drum beat it just absolutely funks along. Rocco was serously ill with liver disease some time ago but now has recovered after a succesful transplant and is back working again |

Great video of Rocco. On sax is Lenny Pickett with the SNL band. Speaking of which, gotta go turn on the tube. SNL is about on. Rich |

Rocco is fantastic. His technique pretty much epitomizes the concept of economy of motion. |

Hey Greg The singer on this version of What is Hip is named Michael, I forget his last name. I played with him back in the mid 70's at some small clubs in San Jose, Ca. He tried to recruit me and a guitar player friend of mine to do some Vegas shows and we passed on the gig. Next thing I know he is the lead singer for Tower of Power. Rory |
