Mica, I'm not sure on what your telling me,
(on the mystery wood Epic) do I need to remove the two screws and pop out the pick up covers, or remove the pickups alltogather to look for any writing. I'm just not sure on how to do this.

take the whole pickup out (you can't remove the cover alone actually). Just loosen the top two screws and lift out the pickup and record the numbers you see. Then when you drop the pickup back in place, it will be at exactly the same height as before. Neato!

Mica, I pulled the pickups last night and this is what they said, under the front pickup it said 10280, and the back said ,Made in the USA, if this helps to identify the mystery wood on my Epic. and if my bass has been for repairs , what was done.

Mica,Thanks so much for your help

I think this task may be near to impossible until I get the records in electronic format. Laurel and I both have been checking groups of files from that year to get match, and have so far been unsuccessful. As soon as we discover something, I'll be sure to let you know.
