Hi Leonard,

Here's the parts of your bass coming together. This first shot is the body halves and the neck before gluing:

You really need to see this wood up close:

Once the paint hits it, the wood will be absolutely stunning! The color is a bit hard to see in these photos, but the main wood is a nice buttery color and the darker areas are a glorious smoky quartz to steely blue. It almost doesn't look like wood!

Mica,

WOW! It is even more beautiful than I had imagined. The choice of wood is superb. Thanks for keeping me updated and if you could continue to post photos as the process continues, I'd greatly appreciate it.

It's fully assembled and almost out of carving. This should get routed with the regular run on Thursday and in spray next week.

Don't mean to be a pain or anything, but any recent photos? Now that I've seen it in progress, I'm gradually becoming more and more anxious to get it, see it, play it, etc. Thanks

The bass is still in spray. Those burls are sure thirsty for the paint. Here they are today (sorry I didn't get out there before they were prepped):

Got in early enough to catch your bass before Bob prepped it (he's a early riser):

Hey Mica,

I hope all is well with you and the folks at Alembic. I was hoping you might have some more photos of my bass and perhaps a rough estimate of ETA? Any news would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for your time,

Len

Your bass was rubbed out yesterday and is scheduled for buffing on Friday. Then the final setup work and electronics calibration is all that's left to do. Should be shipping to you by mid next week. It's getting mighty close!

Mica,

Any news on an ETA for the bass? Also I was wondering what your recommendations are for a case i.e. hardshell vs. flight for shipping purposes. Any news, images, photos, etc. would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Hi Len,
Your instrument is done. It was shipped to G. Guitars yesterday. A thing of beauty, so you'll see it up close and personal in a few days. It should arrive on Wednesday. Here is the UPS tracking number if you'd like to check the travel progress online: 1Z9078527041574030. Let us know how you like it.
Susan
