So in the mean time its string changing time and adjustments. I've starting using DR DDT strings with a 135 for the B. Super solid and very tight B on the Europa 5. Gonna take some time to get used to those but I'm willing. Do you miss highs on these DDT set? Or do they just gave you a more solid botton end? They are mainly for recording. As you all know the Alembic electronic pick up absolutely everything so there is less finger/fret noise with this set due to the tension. The sustain and tone are great. They hold their tune and it even seems like the intonation is more true than with the previous strings I had on my 2 custom Excel 5's and the Europa 5. Just a question really, does the choice of whether to put the thinner of the strings above or below the thicker string depend on whether you play with a pick or fingers? If not what are the reasons for choosing either position? As a guess I would imagine it depends on whether you want the attack of the thinner string margnially before or after the heavier string kicks in. But my curiousity is aroused.
