We're ready to drop the modified electronics in your bass. But of course we have a question. Here's what you told me beofre: "Can the master volume control be placed where the (neck p/u) q-switch is currently located? Then, move that q-switch to where the bridge p/u q-switch is located, relocate the bridge q-switch to the left of the bridge volume/tone knobs and put the bass boost between (and level with) the tone knobs. (orientation: facing the bass)" I interpreted as this: On the left is what I think you asked for. I have a small concern that the bridge Q switch will be too close to your cable and that by keeping the bass boost inline with the tone controls it cramps the neck Q and bass boost. I'm imagining the Q on and the bass boost cut not leaving much room between the paddles. If these proximity issues aren't a problem for you, we can proceed with your original plan. On the right is my suggestion to move the bass boost switch slightly lower and the neck Q between (but slightly higher than) the volumes. From top to bottom (when viewing the picture) the switches you'll have would be: neck Q, bridge Q, bass boost. Either of those make sense? Something completely different? |

Hi Mica, I agree with your suggestion. It clearly makes more sense. However from top to bottom, could it be set up as Bridge Q, Neck Q, Bass boost? As always, thank you for your attention to detail and top notch customer relations. Kind Regards, Stoney |

Sure thing on the switch order. You'll see your bass on Friday. |

I learned something about your bass yesterday, Stoney... There was a battery compartment right where we wanted to put that switch (how silly of me). James made a new little Mahogany battery box near the master volume control and glued it in place, but we couldn't make it on the UPS truck yesterday. I guess we're back to a Monday ship date. I'm out of the office all day today for a photo shoot, so you'll need to check in with Mary if you want the bass overnighted for Friday delivery. Please let her know by 11:00 our time if you want it shipped today so she'll have enough time to pack it properly. Sorry about the false alarm.

Hey Mica, Great job on the mods to my Brown Bass. Got the bass back on Thursday and the pickups friday. The bass cut/boost switch makes all the difference in the world as does the master volume control. And those Fat Boy pickups just iced it!Took it out to my gig on Saturday and pulled it out for the few songs on which I play bass. Should have seen the look on my bandmates' faces! The tone, power and punch of that bass just knocked them out. Thanks for all of your help. GREAT JOB EVERYONE. Stoney
