What I love about black MOP is the subtle colors (pinks, greens, purples) but what has me hesitating is that they can disappear when viewed from a different angle. Any ideas? I agonized over the fingerboard for many months (as I suspect Mica did). After many mockups and more emails than I care to admit to, Alembic delivered exactly (and I do mean EXACTLY) what I wanted. And speaking of fancy, I decided to pull the trigger and go with black MOP bound in silver. This is a dream bass, and I wanted a touch of understated, classic elegance...... The silver tree of life on Jack's bass always fascinated me, but I didn't want to get too fancy (plus I couldn't afford it). This little touch of silver encircling dark, colourful pools seemed a nice compromise. CJ, thanks for the note....
