As beautiful as that is, the fretboard is still my favourite part of this bass. |

Wow! Good work Mica. Doesn't this have the look of elegance? Quite deadly on the visual plane I would say. Can we get a picture of the 5 pin jack? It's hide-and-go-seek is given back six picture posts. I don't believe I've ever seen one mounted there. Thank you. ~David |

More or less finished: Actually, everything's done, but we are waiting for the new octave string for the C. For the 36" scale, there's too much tension on it - Le Yipe! As soon as the new strings are here, will get them on this bass and get this bass to you. You asked about the weight - I got about 14 pounds. So it's not the heaviest one we've ever made, but it's certainly no featherweight. |

That one gives "the Lions Roar" a run for its money. Must be one of the most beautiful basses you have made. Stunning. |

David, Truly an piece of functional art worthy of coveting by anyone from the most skilled to the new initiate. If I was in another type of group it would be a 12 not a 10 for me. Congratulations on an instrument of a lifetime. May it inspire and delight you and I thank you for sharing it with us on these pages. Play it in great health for many, many years to come. |

Thanks everyone for your comments and sentiments. It is nice and wonderful to hear that this project is worthy of your posts. This instrument is certainly a 'looker'. Can't wait to see more pix (back, whole instrument?) and in conclusion, to actually get this in my hands to create. It is very exciting, no? In the meantime, I wait in frazzled anticipation and quietude. Danno: Yo man, How do you think this would sound on your El Whappo Jr.? |

Beyond stellar. The tonal palate you will have at your fingertips will be beyond the dreams of avarice. I've played Tripp's wide 8 and this should surpass it in sustain and deep tone. The Accugroove (to me ) is a very uncolored sound, no controls for tweets and mids, each component is separated from the others. Full sound that is reproduced not enhanced. |

Hi Bernard, welcome to the board! The fingerboard is Macassar Ebony. I believe the top and back are Burl Redwood. The neck is Maple, Purpleheart and Ebony. I think the main body is Purpleheart with Maple accent laminates between it and the Redwood. And I'm thinking the headstock top and back laminates are the Burl Redwood as well. |

I got to SING! "Just once in a lifetime A man knows a moment One wonderful moment When fate takes his hand And this is my moment My once in a lifetime When I can explore a new and exciting land For once in my lifetime I feel like a giant I soar like an eagle As though I had wings For this is my moment My destiny calls me And though it may be just once in my lifetime I'm gonna do great things" I seen that bass in person, and it's a huge work of art that's un-describable in words. PURE REGAL, AND TAKING NO PRISONERS... THIS BASS IS SMACK-DOWN-DROP-DEAD-DANGEROUSLY-LETHALLY BEAUTIFUL. Perfect 10 - I want my coffee mug of this bass!
