Thank you for the photo. It's going to be fun watching baby "Mica" (I've named my bass already)grow into a beautiful musical instrument.
Thanks again,

Dale. I'll bet you're really excited seeing your first FTC post. I too, am a Lefty waiting for a custom order. I'd like to get to know all the lefties in the club. What model of bass, wood, options did you order? I am presently waiting on a series II. If this is your first Alembic you are in for a treat! If not then you already know what I'm talking about. Best of luck and let's hope the waiting goes quickly. Mike

Thanks. These FTC threads are great therapy while we wait for our new basses. Here is the order.
-medium scale, Essence body
-"Valentino neck" (PH-ebony-PH lams)
-mop ovals, side LEDs
-vermilion body and top
-Europa electronics
I am currently playing a beautiful flamed walnut short scale custom, small std body, sig electronics.
When I get big, real big, I too will be ordering a coco bolo series II.
Dale.

This one is just before any of the finish is applied:

dale's pre-spray
When we start the clear coats, the color will really "pop."

Wow, I'm honored you would want to call your bass Mica.

Thanks for another photo. I like the matching body and top woods. Beautiful red wood tones for Mica, eh? (Please tell me there's no formica on my bass).

Great choice of wood there Dale: that looks so amazing even without any finish.

in fact, it looks so yummy without any finish that if it were mine, i'd consider going with an oil finish. but it's yours, dale, and it's beautiful. the combination of woods is so 'right', and i'll bet the tone will be amazing too

i hope you get your cocobolo series II someday, but you're already a very lucky man to have that sweet flame-walnut short-scale at home and this baby in the oven. congratulations!

Thanks for the interest and the comments. After I win the lotto, find gold buried in my basement, and inherit the Microsoft fortunes, there's a coco bolo series II for everyone in the Alembic club!
Dale.

It looks beautiful. The Vermillion has a rich color. The Europa electronics are a nice touch. I like the Valentino special" neck.
I am also lefty. I am going for a "reverse Valentino special" neck on mine. This is 2 ebonies and 1 purpleheart neck lam.

I'm behind on posting, so I'm pretty sure you're already playing this bass! But here it is on the setup bench anyway:

Dale

What a classy instrument, I'm sure you will enjoy this one for a long time. This rates as one of my favorites next to my four of course!

I want to send out a sincere thank you to Mica, Valentino, and all of the craftsmen involved with the creation of baby Mica. I appreciate all of the assistance, patience, and understanding I received from the Alembic family. There is so much that goes into a truly custom instrument of this caliber. The workmanship is extraordinary. This is the main reason I chose Alembic.

Even though baby Mica has only been with me for two days, I can tell it is going to be a beautiful relationship. My wife is already jealous of the attention she is receiving.

Well, gotta go, baby Mica is calling.
