I'm usually not turned on at all by coloured Alembics but that really is a nice blue Rusty.

I too would prefer a natural wood if I was having a custom build.

However I think if it was a white maple wood that was really dramatic like this one, choosing a transparent coloured finish would still allow the natural beauty of the wood to be seen. As you know I have a natural finish maple quilt Series II europa that is as dramatic as this one and I still think visually for me it's too loud and if I was was choosing the maple quilt for a new build I would have a slight brown/amber tint to tone it down.

This one is sure to stand out on stage.

Jazzyvee, your Maple Series II is the bass that made me fall in love with the Europa body. Your bass is stunning! I do want mine to stand out on stage & I think it will also! I can't wait for the next round of pictures!

I would imagine from the last picture it is pretty close to completion so the next ones I would expect to be be the final build ones. The bass may well be with Ron for calibration as we speak. I'm really looking forward to the final pictures too.

I'm hoping that is the case Jazzyvee, but I will love any new pictures, even if it is not fully assembled yet.

No new pictures... this is the boring time where the clear coats build up.

Good news is that it looks like 2-3 more coats so maybe next week I can post pics when it's in the final cure phase. Getting close now!

Brian, I guess we'll have to wait a little longer for new photos. I'm sure they will be worth the wait!

Aw Rusty, now you just HAVE to put ^that^ inspirational memo somewhere in your case...

:sigh: I only have a cheesecake picture of Barbara Eden in the case with my Persuader. :blushing: (because I couldn't find a suitable fortune cookie!)
