Kevin, Yes, the EMW custom was great. The wood combination is awesome! I added the abalone inlays and nearest neighbor backplates to make it a bit different from the custom of the month. Now if I can keep from going nuts for another month or so waiting for its arrival. :-) Troy | ||

Troy, Well, there have been a bunch of basses made with the EMW electronics package, and I imagine more are on the way. Yours is the FOURTH version of the EMW BASS itself: #1 - the August '03 Custom Of the Month (the original that started it all); #2 - The "Boo-Boo" Son Of EMW (http://store.yahoo.com/alembic/orion4custom1.html)- This was the mistake bass you see in it's infancy at the beginning of my FTC thread. A misunderstanding resulted in the wrong "activators" (MXY's vs. J-Bass) and the wrong body wood (mahogany vs. swamp ash), and no gold-plated hardware or gold-plated surface mount logo w/shell. The control knob layout is different, and the PH neck pinstripes are absent as well. #3 - The Son Of EMW, aka, "Ke(vi)n's Custom Orion" #4 - Yours At first I was insulted thinking it was a copycat of my bass, but cooler heads prevailed. I copied the original EMW, but just made additions. You did the same. I just had better timing, LOL! Seriously, it's a fine piece and they say that imitation is the most sincere form of flattery. In that case, we should both thank Alembic and Lary Morgan Music for starting this whole EMW thang, LOL! Cheers, Kevin | ||
