This is a bit unusual:

special spectrum

22 frets and a single-piece top (no bookmatch). Don't mind that little groove on the lower body half. That's where the battery cavity will connect with the main electronics cavity.

Ditto! I'm interested to see how this pup will turn out.

I hear we stopped the single piece style for lack of an excellent example of the wood in the wide width. So now it's back on construction track with a bookmatch to center.

Why do you want only 22 frets instead of 24?

That will put the neck pickup close to where the 24th fret would have been; some players prefer that, as they consider it a sweeter spot.

Got the sealer coats on. I wasn't sure if it was this far along when you were visiting:

Looks like it's routed for Spectrum electronics, Kev - gorgeous guitar, in any case.

D'uh! My bad...I totally ignored the S/S/H lay-out!

Yup, that shape would've been my body of choice had I placed a pre-price hike order at the end of '04. I probably would have gone with Tribute electronics at the time, but now I might have gone Series.
