The body laminations look killer! Here's the modified peghead shape: This is the back of the template - the lines don't mean anything. |

Looks like Jelly has a girl friend!Artie,I own an acoustic bass guitar with a flamed purple heart finger board. When it was constructed naturally the finish darkened up the Purple Heart on the body etc.and I left the finger board untreated. Fast forward ten years the finger board was gunked up with the usual stuff hiding the flame. A recent neck reset and refretting gave me the opportunity to try something I had done to another instrument, I had the finger board coated with three coats of minwax wood hardner to preserve the appearance of the board.Several things happened, the bass plays a little brighter, the attack quicken just a little with the brightness and the finger board now cosmetically matches the finished PH. I would ask that you consider this during the build process. I also have a solid PH with Paduk trim spoiler that's extremely heavy for it's size. So heavy that every time I play it on my leg it cuts off the circulation after about 20-25 minutes. I think yours might have the same effect, so be careful suddenly standing up after playing in a similar fashion. Would'nt want to hear about any horror stories. |

Sorry for the awful lighting - this guitar looks much more interesting that this quick snapshot. With the 2 sets of three controls, I keep getting drawn to 2 clean lines: I might want to get the pickup selectors a little closer together like on the regular Tributes, but this should give you a rough idea of what I was talking about on the phone today. The volume control is on the same spot as your Tribute. Let me know if this will work for you. I should be available nearly all day tomorrow for your phone call. |

Artie: I'm usually not a big Tribute guy, but I have to say you realy struck gold with this one. (I've seen yellow, white and red gold, so why not purple gold?) It's a stunner. Enjoy and make some beautiful music together. And oh yea, MORE PICS!!!! Bill, tgo |
