Rami - your bass is a truly awesome instrument. I was in Santa Rosa on Tuesday and saw it in person. It is larger than many of the other instruments around the shop and has a commanding presence. Congratulations!

I was trying to come up with the right word to describe this beauty, but I think Brother Bracheen got it right....
*Magnificent*
Congratulations, Rami.

Thanks guys,

I must admit to being a little intimidated by it myself. It's almost more art than instrument. An Alembic showpiece, like the others.

Rami, That's a fantastic instrument - I really like the continuous wood trussrod and pickup covers.

Rami:

Another stunning beauty of a bass, and I would sure love to see more pictures. I also look forward to hearing your description of the tone of the bass and how it compares to your other ebony masterpieces. By the way, is this now your heaviest bass?

Hey Jeff,

Thanks for the kind words. It may appear as a Featured Custom, so you may get some spectacular pictures and detailed descriptions of it. If not, I'll post my own home pictures once it arrives. I'm certainly expecting it to be my heaviest Bass. After the "Dark Prince" and "Evil Twin", I have a pretty good idea of the tone I'm expecting from it; lots of resonance and incredible sustain. I'll have to wait until I actually have it in my hands to accurately describe it though. Maybe Valentino can describe it now.

Rami,

You are living the dream. I hope you left some money for food and clothing. This bass is beautiful. Your conception of the perfect bass is right on. I respect your style. Very, very well conceived and executed. Nice.

The tone is...low end, low end... and more low end. In other words (if I haven't been clear enough) it has massive low end.

I think when I weighed it it came in just under 15lbs.

Good grief, just looking at that baby makes you want to duck down low. It looks like a fearsome weapon, a stealth bass. A magnificent piece, you will probably have to sneek up on her so as not to get bitten. Well done!

Rami not knowing at this writing but, I think this should be the next custom of the month just so all of us can see all the wonderful handwork in the extras on this bass. Good luck and happy gigging my Rogue brother!

Thanks Barry - Mica did mention the possibility!

It has alot of cool trick features that you have to see to believe. The idea for it came from my desire for a fretless version of the "Dark Prince" (August 2002 FC). Somehow, Mica and I got to thinking what else can we add to make this one extra special - and Voila!

"Dark Prince" construction - but fretless, Series II electronics, side LEDs with gold rings, 24 karat gold Alembic logo with Abalone shell, continuous wood everything (Like "Dark Prince"), and a unique 7 mode selector switch on the power supply.

But at this point, I think I'll get as much pleasure from admiring it as playing it. It's a real work of art. Thanks Alembic!

You know... if you're going to keep doing this you have to sell a couple of the others to us. It's an unspoken rule. :-)

Hi Mica/Val,

I was wondering if there's any news as to when the case and power supply will be ready.

Thanks,

Rami

Hi Mica,

Any further updates concerning the case and power supply? Also, any news on those Essence electronics?

Thanks,

We are just waiting on the case. I spoke with the company that's making it and the designer will return from vacation on the 8th and they will deliver the case the same week. So it looks like delivery will be very soon, finally.

I will email you today to confirm shipping details and we'll get all the arrangements for delivery taken care of this week.

Joy of joys! The newest case came today, and... it fits great!

Even around the straplocks:

Here's the little hand access area marked in green:

The peghead clears the edges and is completely "floating" in the well:

Nice accessories compartment with a good latch. You can see the hand access are a little better here:

Valentino will be back on Monday, and we'll inspect it closely along with Mary's eagle eye. I will call you when it's all packed up to make the final shipping arrangements.

I don't know if I'd call Rami's bass the ultimate custom bass just yet - mine's being built! :-)

Just kidding - congrats, Rami. I saw your bass when I visited the Mothership in August, and I must say it's an awesome instrument. Not something I would play (hell, I have a hard enough time with 4 strings let alone six!), but it is beautiful - incredible woods, and of course, incredible Alembic craftsmanship. I'm sure she'll bring you many hours of happiness.

Best regards,

Alan

Thanks Mica. It's just awesome! Way better than the previous one.
I can't wait for it's arrival and to finally hear it sing!

P.S. I think any one of David Grego's Basses deserve the title of "Ultimate Custom". Where does this guy get his ideas?!!!
